Week 52

Image
The week started out on Monday with practicing great patience.  We needed a load of water to top off our 2,000 gallon water tank because we would not be here to get another delivery the rest of the week, and we did not want to run out.  We waited all day for the truck to come.  We had committed to take the branch Relief Society president around in the truck at 2:00 p.m. to do visits to sisters who live farther away from her because she does not have a car.  Since the missionaries have P-day on Monday and were not going anywhere, we asked them to watch for the water truck and let him through the gate if he came while we were gone.  However, he did not come then or any time after we got back.  That is until close to 10:00 p.m.  We had just gotten in bed, and Isaac called saying the truck was "on his way coming."  So Elder Judd got up and dressed and waited another 15-20 minutes until he finally came.  But, it was good to have the tank full. Week 51 (In Ghana)

To start with this week, we would like to thank those of you who sent us Christmas and New Years greetings!  Please know that we appreciate your love, support and prayers and are grateful for all your kind thoughts and well wishes. Thank you so much!!   Monday (January 6) this last week was Heaven sent!  We did not go anywhere all day.  It was a much needed day to work on several things that we had not had time to do.  One of these was to make a list of apartments that we recommend terminating the lease on and getting a new replacement apartment for each.  President Jacobsen had asked us a month ago to do this, so it was good to finally complete the assignment.      Tuesday, we went to Swedru for the Swedru district council meeting.   Elders Lomate, Heerdink, Mboya, Mamouna, Fernelius,  Nakatuzayako, Salatielu, Eyo, Laulu, and Yobana Enthusiastically singing "Praise to the Man" On the way back from Swedru, we stopped at Ghana Make a...

Happy New Year!!  Somehow we miscounted our weeks.  This is actually week 52 on our mission and week 50 in Ghana.  Nonetheless, time does not stop! Our sweet visit from Sara ended as we took her to the airport on Wednesday evening, January 1.  Now it is back to our regular routine starting this coming week after wonderful visits from Allison, John, Taylor, and Nathan and then from Sara with transfers, departing and arriving missionaries, and Christmas zone conferenced between the visits. We had a full day on Monday (December 30).  We left early at 5:30 a.m. to drive to Accra to meet Jeremy (our tour guide) at the mission home.  We then drove 2 1/2 hours north to see Boti Falls, the three headed palm tree, and umbrella rock.  Unfortunately, with two wet seasons with less than normal rainfall and now being in the dry season, Boti Falls was nothing more than one very small trickle (more like a large drip!). Sister Judd got acquainted with some other...
